Brief but puts across our thoughts on today's session...
Written by Oliver Avis
"Great turnout from the NW Nomad members today at Curleys fishery especially considering the poor start to the day in terms of the weather! Fishing was good, not easy but rewarding and the fish that I caught battled like fury which every other nomad member also experienced, as there was fish caught all over the place. With quite a few fish showing the majority of us were fishing in the top 2ft of water where most of the fish were caught to a variety of flies from lures to dries. All in all a very enjoyable session and a real eye opener from a much improved fishery! I will be back!"
As will be all, great to get back on our local water, which is well on its way to becoming, once again, a well run and well stocked fishery!

Ellerdine Session - 3/5/2015
This venue always provides great sport for us nomads, its heavily stocked, and all 4 lakes can be covered in one day. Ideally located just 15 minutes from any major roads, yet still in complete country like surroundings....
Quiet and peaceful, with a stunningly beautiful lodge, providing FREE tea and coffee facilities as well as a gratis piece of cake!
Ellerdine is one of England's top still waters, without a doubt. The fishing is second to non, with all fish being fully finned and bred in top fish farm facilities within the UK. The Hospitality of the owners and bailiff are impeccable, non of which i have seen for a long long time.
Back in the day, all anglers were looked after at various venues across the UK, now its more along the lines of "Money please, and few tactic tips and that's it" if all fisheries, treated their anglers in the same manner that ellerdine does, their banks and boats would be full of fluff flinging trout hunters, all week round.
Free tea and coffee, plenty of fish, well maintained, reasonably priced tickets. Its not rocket science folks! but when done as a combination and correctly, can make a fishery extremely successful.
Anyways, on to the fishing, ALL nomads latched onto trout. With Jim McGinley and secretary Steven Elliott leading the way, with 13+ fish a piece. Although while i have this opportunity i would just like to point out that our amazing Online coordinator for 2015, Nathan Jones, landed a superb specimen around 8 1/2lb to a olive snake. (cough cough** Awesome skills!)
All Nomads had a top day, and here's to our next return!!
Get yourselves up to ellerdine, it was voted one of the best fisheries in the UK for a reason.

Raygill Session 26/4/15
Raygill has been visited many a time by the North West Nomads Fly fishing club UK over the last few seasons, each time the fishery has produced the goods.
This visit was no different with every nomad latching onto some fully finned specimens. Amoungst the six nomads that threw some fluff about on the day, personal bests were smashed. Both Paul Kuczera and Paul Johnson had a day to remember, securing lumps.
This crystal clear deep quarry holds some specimen trout and pike, on the day we were after the large bows and browns that inhabit this stunning fishery.
A few photos kindly donated by the anglers on the day, thanks gents for taking the time to email them to me.
